Established in 2007 by the Leatherby Libraries, the Community of Readers is the summer reading program for Chapman University. This program is open to everyone who has borrowing privileges at the Leatherby Libraries and a current library account, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Book Review
The first couple lines of this books are SO STUPID, but don't let that turn you off. Although most coming of age novels involve high school and relationships, this book manages to do something that most YA books don't: it makes all the characters feel like real people with depth. You won't find any evil cheerleaders or bonehead jocks in this book. I really appreciated that the ex-girlfriend wasn't made into a villain or a plot device. Now I need to go watch the movie and see how it compares!
