A
beautiful book showing woodblock prints of women made by this famous Japanese
artist in the late 1800's when Japan was moving away from their isolated and
traditional ways and beginning to deal with European influences during the
Meiji Dynasty. I found the explanations surrounding Yoshitoshi's depiction of
women as ghosts quite interesting, and sometimes a bit disturbing.
